It’s down right cold here this week. -20°F to -30°F at night and only a bit warmer during the day. Cold winter days bring out the chili lovers. How do you like your chili? Mild? Medium? HOT? Saturday, January 17th, the participants in the 2nd annual Chili Challenge will find out what the public thinks, with the winner getting bragging rights. I won’t be that upset if I don’t win, because I receive great feedback on a daily basis from my customers. I’d still love to come out on top. Who wouldn’t?
My chili is crafted to appeal to a pallet that appreciates spicy but not too much heat — in the slightly less than medium range. My vegetarian and pulled pork chilis have become popular items on the menu and many customers return specifically for a bowl of chili with a biscuit. If it’s heat you are looking for… just ask! I’ll bring out the arsenal of spices and dress your chili to your liking. Are you someone who likes to sweat while you devour your chili? I think I can make your dreams come true. 
For those of you who like just a little kick you’ll find the King’s chili just to your liking. NO complaints yet. Stop by and try a bowl!

Well… I didn’t win, but I did gain a few new customers. The voting was close and as in any ‘taste’ contest… the results can be very subjective to individual tastes. Every contestant had their own specialty; I’ve never seen that many varieties of chili in one place before! I take my hat off to the winner, but they’d better watch out next year!
